When my birth mother married my father in 1974 he adopted me. This was a legal adoption and my name was changed. I was born in the US. My parents recall the lawyer saying that I would have Dual Citizenship. Would it have been part of the adoption process in the early seventies to confirm my Canadian Status? How could I obtain a copy of the Adoption act that covers that time period?

My GG-Grandfather died at 999 Queen St. in 1914. How would I find out where he is buried? His wife had no money to do so.
Have you obtained his death registration? It may state place of burial. It's also possible he was buried at 999 Queen St which was a hospital. Submit a query to Toronto OGS and request a lookup of their cemetery records.

I have a copy of a will written in Ontario in 1850 which mentions "property to be given to the girls when of age or married". At what age did children become "of age" in 1850?
