My grandfather was in Kingston Penn I believe for 7 years for a bank robbery and I am trying to find the records of the crime or the correcetional records. His name is William Henry McMillan. He was adopted and his other last name was Chard. This happened in the Niagara falls area. He was a university student. happened approx 1930. He was caught because of some hat he was wearing.

Correctional Records are available at the Archives of Ontario, check with them first to see if they have the area & time period needed. If they don't have the needed records they may still be held at the local court house.

I have an 1881 census record for my Ontario ancestors which lists as its census place Olden, Addington, Ontario. But it sure looks to me like Olden Twp is in Frontenac county. Was there an Olden village, perhaps? Were lines redrawn sometime after 1881? Any help you can give me in this matter will be appreciated (PS It also says Distrcit 118, Sub-district 1, Page # 18...if that helps any.)

In the 1871, 1881, and 1891 census Addington was an enumeration district. It has no bearing on geographic county locations. Olden Township is geographically within Frontenac County.
